Re: What do you remember???

I remember screwball icecreams with the gobstopper in the bottom, carbolic soap and the rag and bone man giving out goldfish, balloons and donkey stones in return for rags.
When my dad was working night shifts in the coal pit, I can remember watching with my mum 'The Invaders', 'Sunday night at the London palladium' (I loved the dancing girls at the end lol) and 'The fugitive'.

Re: What do you remember???

Which is why I produced this website to store little snippets of memories, some pictures perhaps, and the chance to interact and feed off others memories. Katami. Just started trying to get it off the ground.

Hot pants, gogo boots, mini skirts (with the hot pants underneath because our high school had stairs and the boys tended to wait below) saddle shoes, white gloves on Sundays with frilly dresses, those big giant jawbreakers for a penny, Brownie cameras, washing machines with the rollers.......Wow! What a flashback!

Yes I remember OMO - apparently it is still available in S. Africa.

Being an 'ancient' I also remember fondly on the radio, the 'Goon show', 'Journey into Space', 'Take it from here', Hancock's Half hour. Anyone else with these fond memories???

Yes indeed Geoff, also 'Dan Dare Pilot of the future', 'Movie go-round (Sunday afternoons) and my Mam was a great fan of 'Mrs Dales Diary'.
Welcome aboard Geoff.

Remember Omo but my mum used Tide even to do the washing up. I remember a powdered shampoo I think it was Vaseline, Camay Soap. Listening to radio Luxemburg and Archie Andrews who believe it or not was a ventriloquist on the radio........heh heh.......

Cookiecate, yes darlin' - I too remember Archie Andrews - the radio programme was actually entitled 'Educating Archie' with Peter Brough. Do you also remember 'Children's Hour on the radio on Saturday mornings with 'Uncle Mac' ???

Good grief!!-chitterlings??-I remember them. I think I had them once but I was only little. A lady in the village used to sit and prepare them as I recall.

I have only worn a short skirt once--and no picture of it exists-only my top half as some may have seen
Oh that's such a shame I quite like legs OG lol

I remember Uncle Mac but I don't think I got to hear much on a Saturday morning, my other name was Cinderella and Saturday mornings meant, shopping, going to the launderette and house chores for my half crown pocket money.

Later on a Saturday I think, it was Life with the Lyons with Ron and Eff.
