Re: Friends Reunited

I'm still a member of Friends Reunited but haven't been on for years. I think people turned to Facebook when it came on the scene and FR lost out.

Oh Patsy how often I have said that to myself. It gets me so mad when something comes on the market and it works and is easy to use etc. and then some marketing muppet decides that it needs an 'update' or a 'new image' or whatever and the result is ten times worse than the original.

One recent example is Microsoft Excell spreadsheet, the old one did everything anyone could want but they had to bring out a newer version didn't they changed many of the icons (Even 'tho they did the same things) and horror or horrors they tried to anticipate what you were doing, of course the software gets it wrong more often than not and it's all so hopelessly complicated.

To make matters worse that exceeding rich Bill Gates character decided to delete my old version and CHARGE me for installing the new version. (It used tobe free with MS Windows) Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Know what you mean Losos, I used to really enjoy using Microsoft Picture It Print Studio, as soon as XP came in it became incompatible with it and never updated, it was so easy to use and much simpler than Photoshop, which is incomprehensible! I miss it so much!

Re: Friends Reunited

It used to cost £7.50 a year membership at the start, meaning, people with a genuine interest in contacting others or being contacted were the only subscribers, once the fee was waived, and a forum added, it lost it's appeal as a historical reference point, and was plagued by some right Dickheads. Imo.

It's annoying, wish they wouldn't do it but I guess you and I, even in tandem, ain't gonna change things

Re: Friends Reunited

Yes, it was, but it was all we had back then. the "new" group forums are very odd! As is the box thingy you're supposed to collect things in, mine was empty apart from something I didn't put in it!

Re: Friends Reunited

Sorry cross-posted with you Losos, I did message MS on their website and there were several complaints on there but, nothing happened, it was silly because I think it could have done well, maybe more popular than Photoshop.
