My first and middle names are the names of my godfather (who was also an atheist, incidentally!), who was my dad's best mate.

My middle name used to embarrass me at school to the extent that I denied having it. On the first day of a new term, however, the PE teacher demanded I tell him it - he presumably had the initial on his records.

I told him that I never use it but, when he shouted at me, I was obliged to announce it in front of the class. You can imagine the laughs and derision.

I was nearly called Tuesday ,, when I was born my mum and dad took one look at me and said " let's call it a day "....!!

I like my first name - as long as no-one shortens it.
My second name is boring.
I like my third name - chose it myself at Confirmation.

Apparently I was originally supposed to be christened Veronica - and to be known as Ronnie - at least I escaped that one.
