I have to admit haven't been digesting matters going on in Italy. My understanding is that Salvini wants the EU to fix the economic damage it has inflicted on Italy. Nothing wrong with that. (or have I got it wrong?) Could you explain Conte's reason for resigning please?

Salvini has made a power play and wont support the coalition

Looks like an election with Salvini winning a majority. Here comes another right wing EU immigration hating party which wants to spend it's own money.

Whatever happens or doesn't happen in Italy, at least they still have the Sun and tasty Fresh Food and happy smiling faces, and they can all sing too.

If you go to any Italian Village Church complete with beautiful religious paintings you will find that the Priests taking the Mass can sing just as well as Lucy... [Pavarotti].

Hi

Italy has been a basket case for many years, long before it joined the Euro.

It's National Debt was huge 10 years before they joined.

Italy and Greece share the same national sport, which is avoiding paying tax.

The President,
Mr Mattarella is hoping to find political will to form a new government. If this does not happen, he could dissolve parliament and hold a new election as early as October.
