Sad to learn he has died. Dad's army was a golden period in light entertainment. An inspired group of much loved actors in the twilight of their careers.

A joy to watch 30 years later still...........and NO swearing, just gentle humour & great scripts acted effortlessly by veteran actors.

WHo can forget the immortal line uttered by Captain Mainwaring
