Aurora.

Just noticed on my Twitter, Aurora watch says that there is a good chance of Aurora sightings if you live in the North tonight.

Re: Aurora.

Thanks Nom I will keep a look out on my late night walk with Chloe though we must be too far south this time.

I have seen a pale version of the Aurora down here years ago.

Re: Aurora.

Once, when I was about 6yrs old, I was travelling home to Ireland on the boat from Liverpool. The Stewardess who had been put in charge of me came and woke me up about midnight and took me up on deck to see the Aurora - it was magic!

Have seen it a couple of times from here - but never so clearly. Will have to go out later on and have a look - thanks for the tip-off, Nom.

Ive seen it once ST back in the Sixties, but ive missed a couple of great events in the last couple of years. Only one total eclipse also back in the 60`s, finding true dark areas is hard these days with all the light pollution.

Re: Aurora.

I've seen it quite a few times off the coast of Norway. Last time it lasted 1 hour, we were , in the bow, on an icy deck, in open sea and in a force 8 gale.
