Testing

For testing to matter, in a pandemic, would folks need to be tested on a daily basis because of the incubation period, and the likelihood of picking up infection the day after the test?

Re: Testing

I said similar a while back Spitty.

I said if someone's test is Negative, it only means negative on the day of the sample. It won't stop them becoming positive a week later will it.

I really don't know the answer as to what's best.

Re: Testing

It's sort of cobblers Mups, to make folks feel safe on any given day.

Re: Testing

I thought people should only be tested if they felt ill & that they might have the virus. People traced as being with the people tested positive were to isolate for 10 or was it 12 days. Then if they felt ill to get a test.

Re: Testing

It is strange, that there is no treatment, whilst in isolation, everything is self orientated.

If they aren't particularly ill they don't need treatment, if they are that ill they do something about it, or their family do.

I think you are right Tiff, and that is what they are saying now.
However, I believe some people have to be tested regardless, because of their job.

I know my friend who works in care for the elderly, has felt perfectly healthy but has still had to be tested twice over the last few months.
Luckily she has been negative both times.

I thought the isolation is 14 days isn't it?
