I recall years ago
When I was a CHILD
The winters were cold
And the summers were mild.

T'was so long ago
Since I was a boy
I'm thinking back now
Through TEARS of pure JOY.

I watch my sweet Grandkids
As they play in the SAND
And I think to myself
"Aint this life just grand!"

I sit as they DIG
And build castles and things
While all the time thinking
Such memories this brings.

The GARDEN lies fallow all winter long
and bursts into life, with all the bird song.
The buds they appear, up in the trees
to unfurl the leaves, the insects to please

Spring flowers, from their REST, now awake
The birds with their young, swim on the lake
Nature can smile at the JOB it's achieved
nothing compares, think those who believed

Back home WORK will not cease
but somehow the SHED brings solace and peace
It's nice to know, that some summer day
there's a colourful carpet, of floral array.
