Boris, Bring Back Air Raid Warnings!

Hey, during WW2, if the was an air raid, Sirens would be switched on to warn the public

An up and down siren tone, blasted out very loudly, meant "Quick - get in your shelters, ASAP"

A continuous siren meant "All Clear, go and sort out your bomb damage"

I suggest Boris brings this system back as the Government handles Virus alarms!

If the infection level reaches whatever target the Alarm goes off & everyone abandons the pubs, restaurants, shops, etc., and runs back to their bubble!

They stay in that bubble until the All Clear sounds.

No applause, for the idea, please, just throw half crowns!

There's a big one a few miles away,in Crowthorne.

Haven't heard it, for a while, but it got tested every Monday morning at 10am.

At a place called Broadmoor - which sounds nice!

Up until the 80's at least, the old sirens were used as flood warnings in the London dock areas and were tested every so often. I'm not sure if they are still useable, or necessary, after the flood barrier was built. A chilling sound!
