Settling down on a Friday night with a couple of DVDs and using my precious time watching two absolutely awful sci-fi movies I was "recommended".George Lucas's first feature, 1973's "THX 1138", an absolutely confusing waste of film, and "Journey to the Other Side of the Sun", a 1969 film which was so boring it made my beer go flat and tasteless and everything in the room turned grey.

It was only science fiction in the sixties and seventies....Now we know better....

Sci-fi horror is different though. I love the Alien films and the first Terminator.

Yes, I've never really been a big sci-fi fan anyway. Star Wars did nothing for me and I watched Blade Runner again recently and thought it was the most tedious film I've seen in years.
