Re: Children's names

I met a Ryan at the weekend, he's lovely, shame he's old enough to be my grandson.

I like Colin, my daughter would have been if she'd been a boy baby & for a girl Jesse, but OH named her instead, it was his turn.

Re: Children's names

Twenty years ago, I named one of my Flatcoated Retrievers, Finn as l loved the name.

I gave all my five children unusual names except my son, Daniel. It wasn’t as common in 1973 when he was born, as it is now!

ST, l am replying to you in this thread, rather than interrupt Feey’s thread.
I didn’t know my new granddaughter’s name, Saoirse meant Liberty. Thank You for the info! I still have a problem spelling it, especially as it’s pronounced, ser cha!

Re: Children's names

My grand daughter is named after an American State, not saying which one as it would make it easy to find her. I doubt if there's anyone else with the same name in this country.
My great neice is named after a country! Weird lot we are.

Re: Children's names

Hi

My name is well out of fashion.

There was no child given it in England last year.

Re: Children's names

I like a lot of the more unusual names, but not the silly ones. My youngest daughter was born in 75 and I called her Regan, she often gets Ray or Rags for short.
Most of my dogs have unusual or Gaelic names, like my big lad of the moment, he's called Dageus, some of my past Sheepdogs were Pashka, Finn, shayla.
