I'm certainly no expert; all I know is what I have read on DiYnot!
Can't you pump it up with air again using a bicycle pump?

Can't you pump it up with air again using a bicycle pump?
Yes mate,

As long as the diaphragm is ok and not leaking / perished.
Also, you have to do it with the central heating circuit drained and pump it up to about 1 bar.
If water comes out of the vessel when you push the schrader valve - it's knacked.
