People Who Don't Know What the Word "Live" Means

There's a lot of them about. Take three ex-footballers who became football pundits (on live football) Jamie Carragher, Steve Gerrard and Danny Murphy.

They don't know what it means. For example Carragher, writing in The Mail said "I have been watching international rugby for a few years but only saw my first live game last week". All international rugby matches are shown live. Carragher himself is paid large sums of money to speak about football games shown on Sky and billed as "live".

He/they should know this.

Does Jamie Carragher mean that he actually went to out see a rugby match rather than watch it on TV? Seems pretty obvious really.

Surely that is what he meant? He physically walked through the barrier into the ground and watched the game "live" for the first time. Hmmm.:

And then we have Live at the Apollo.

When aired it had been recorded four months earlier.

I still don't get your point though

Yes, it is "live", whether it is on TV or you are physically there watching it. If it's a TV recording such as "Live at The Apollo" it isn't broadcast live is it, but the comedians were live on stage when it was recorded?
What are you actually getting at Gravitas?
