Re: jealousy

I think it might be a man thing
I have never been even remotely jealous nor envious
Nor ambitious
But the men in my life like their "new toys"

I have been promoted at work several times..
But I didn't look for it
It found me !

Re: jealousy

Definitely a 'man' thing.. My car's better than yours and 'Jimmy's got a sit on mower .. must get one' All the usual but as said many times, the only person that jealousy hurts, is the jealous person.

No need, particularly when they start comparing wives.

Men are funny creatures. My man is constantly comparing himself to others. It seems to be about puffing oneself up and feeling confident.

Women get jealous in different ways but definitely get jealous.

Guys seem to play that one upmanship a lot.
Ok you’ve got this but I’ve got THIS.
It’s sometimes funny but most often annoying.

This seems to rear its head up quite a lot in my hobby photography, I don't know about other interests but i suspect it is the same.

Around here as soon as one household has a new car several others follow suit.
I think if your basically happy with life then jealousy has no part to play.

I'm not sure about, people getting "easily" jeleous .

But I certainly believe in jeleousy ,.....I have been in my young days.

Now I am older,I understand why I felt jeleous .

Re: jealousy

Around here we do inverted jealousy snobbery ... my car is 12 years old then my neighbour gives up owning a car just to prove a point. My wife and I are both looking old and doddery, further down the street they're getting carried out feet first.

Re: jealousy

If I’m honest ,yes I tend to get jealous of some things, but probably not so much, as I get older, cars, I have a 18 month old car, it’s lovely, but I’d really love an s,u,v type car, but mrs p can’t get comfortable in them, they’re too big, houses, we should have moved years ago, into a bigger house, but circumstances and job security played its part, so we live in a small two bed bungalow..however, and this is where age now comes in.. cars, rather than going bigger, with my plan to semi retire next year, we could do with something smaller rather than larger, houses, we have a lovely house and garden , we live in a desirable area, with lovely neighbours all around us, and best of all ,it’s all paid for, so , if jealousy rears it’s ugly head, I give myself an imaginary slap in the face and say to myself how lucky I am, there’s plenty who would change places with me in an instant...

Re: jealousy

I can never understand why people can’t just be happy for others to have things. Instead, they start to despise them and say they are showing off.
