Garden Watch

While my friend is away (see Westie Watch) I am looking after her garden - watering pots etc., not that I really need to - it hasn't stopped raining for two days!

These have just come to flower and I thought that the rain might spoil them before she returns - so I photographed them for her so she would not miss them.

Re: Garden Watch

Out on my 'Going Wild' ramble today I saw this - isn't it lovely? It is Black Sambuca - same genus as the Elder Flower.

Re: Garden Watch

Beautiful roses ST. I love my flowers.
They have got some of that Sambucus Nigra growing along the approach to my local garden centre, it is very striking with its pink flowers against the dark leaf isn't it.

Silver Tabby I have one of these in a large pot.
Does it need ericaceous soil do you know?

It doesn't need anything special, Ruthio, and will grow in most soils.

Being the same genus as the Elder it can run wild if not pruned in Autumn once it's leaves have fallen.

Those are lovely roses and the raindrops make them look extra special.
