Growing Micro Greens

Does anyone grow Micro Greens , if so do you grow them in soil or some other growing medium.

Unsure what to do with my birthday gift of 4500 assorted seeds (including herbs and vegetables) in my small garden and with raised beds already planned, I though of growing Mico Greens .

With my Christmas money I have ordered a mini greenhouse and some growing trays with soil free pads to get me started.

The Micro Greens will be a lovely addition to the salad leaves I grow in tubs .

For the uninitiated

Re: Growing Micro Greens

Meg, I usually grow my greens directly in the soil. That being said, they’re not micro green.

I grow herbs in pots, sorry, not much help, but I'd be really interested in your results!

Mini or not, green coloured veggies are god's warning, "DO NOT EAT" ( I can make an exception for peas)

No Meg I've never tried, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it.

I have never heard of micro greens. I would like to try them though. They look like those salad topper packs that you can buy.

A number of people use fine compost other just pads and I wondered what other members used.

Thanks both I have done sprouting seeds over the years and cress in egg shells but this is a step further .

I have just been to the nursery and bought fine compost so will do one batch in that and another 'soilless' .

Hi Minx I will try soil for some and hydroponic or perlite for others.
