Re: Festive Trifles

I probably made one or two.
Mum used to make sherry trifles and because my late OH was in AA for decades (ie wouldn't have anything with alcohol in it ... the second A stands for anonymous ) I had to make some kind of excuse when we went to her house as to why he wouldn't have her trifle, mince pies, Xmas pud etc.

Gawd ... life innit ... happy days

Re: Festive Trifles

I don't mind trifle, but it's got to be my own choices of layers, so I'm not too keen on other people's/

Re: Festive Trifles

A trifle with Amaretto biscuits, soaked in ginger wine and layered with pineapple and topped with custard and whipped cream is delicious.

Re: Festive Trifles

I always used to make my own trifles, also Snowball Pudding. Both delicious treats for Christmas.
However of late I go have forgone the Snowball pudding .
Go to "ICELAND"[the store] for trifles as they cost £1 for three. Good value .
Also I was finding that the trifle looked good to start with but then when people had dug in a bit it was looking a bit sad and unappetising.
That is just me though.
