Re: The origin and history of the poink

All this info is amazing! I had no idea what a poink was so I assumed it was a prod from the pointed end of an umbrella.... looks like I was wrong and it originated from ancient stories. TessA gave the original story, but she never mentioned
"Dancing starkers round their handbags to the sound of YMCA."
I used to be a dancer some years ago and I am now wondering if I would be a suitable apprentice because, I am sure it is well known that I and some of my friends, on here, have experience in dealing with difficult men!
Tess , if I am suitable please send me a note,
and Nom, all I can say to you is BEWARE!

Of course they practice evil and hate all blokes, and spend time chanting about separating men from their cash and sticking their poinkers (knitting needles) into voodoo type dolls.

Afterwards they need to rest so they retire to a cake shop for tea and battenburg.
Oh dear Nom!

I think you've just opened your own can of "woims" right there!!!

All of this story is completely fictitious and bears no resemblance to any person or happening ever!
“Poinking” is a virtual poke in the eye, used to convey annoyance and should never be used in real life! (Especially on lions)

As apprentice Poinker (Black Belt) I should like to add that no animals were hurt.

Re: The origin and history of the poink

It all sounds a bit technical to me; I think I will stay away from the poink - it could rebound on one, as it were

I looked it up in the dictionary & I can't say what it means on here, but I had never heard of it before. Have I led a sheltered life then?
