Re: WHY - do this .....?

It said on the news today that no date has ever been given for the birth other than " the middle of July".

They must be getting paid a lot.

I know where I'd rather be - sitting outside with a strong alcoholic beverage or five... Oh wait - I AM!

Yes, there are a lot of people gathering outside the hospital Nelson Mandela is in - but the difference is that he's in a critical condition and actually DID something for Africa. What has "Kate" ever done for the UK? Apart from speak in a false posh accent that makes me want to throw something?

Can you tell I'm not a Royalist?
Yes, I will be very upset when Nelson Mandela goes, great man!

And the royal baby may one day be as great so having a little celebration when he/she is born sounds fine to me.

Re: WHY - do this .....?

Some people love all that stuff Pats.
In the old days the husband made himself scarce when the baby was due to arrive, in my first case I was told by the women looking after the wife (she was upstairs in the front bedroom of the same house we're in now) to " Go on off to the pub with you, we're busy and you're gettin in the way", an hour and a half later the barman shouts out to a packed pub "Jimmy the apple has dropped, you're to go back to the house now".
It's all different now, no more house births and hubby or whoever is there in the hospital to hold her hand, ah how sweet it is.
