School Nativites

My friend has asked me to go to her Grandson's school nativity play with her this thursday. I don't think I've been to a nativity for about 60 years as I haven't any grandchildren myself. I wonder if they have changed much? I saw on the news that in one school the Health & Safety lot are insisting one little girl wears a crash helmet to ride a donkey just a few steps!!
When did you last go to one?

Re: School Nativites

Last year the nursery school where my grand niece had one. Brought a tear to my eye really did.

Going to her school one next week and her church club is having one on 22nd which we will go and see too.

She is angel number 2 in her school nativity and a shepherdess in the church nativity.

Re: School Nativites

The twins had one at nursery school yesterday but I had Hannah here so didn't go.

My sister in Derbyshire didn't go to see her youngest grandchildren either, tickets were required only two per family which of course were usually taken by the parents.
This was 'for health and safety reasons' so the hall didn't become too crowded
We used that hall when I was a child and everyone who wanted to go got in , no one bothered about H.A.S in those days.

Oh my goodness I think It is easily 30 years + since I have been to a nativity play and that was to see my nephew.

As we do not live anywhere near any of our relatives it is not possible to get to see them.

We went to see family last week in Yorkshire but the nativity is this week so missed again.

My last nativity play was similar except I was about 8 and out of sight holding up a piece of scenery. The reviews raved about my performance.

Re: School Nativites

Dianne came home from work (school admin officer) one day and asked if I could fix the crib for the nativity play. It seems that Mary fell over, landed on the crib and squashed baby Jesus.

Apart from things like that, it's a long time since my children were at that age. Some very good plays, some truly cringeworthy, some hardly a dry seat in the house.

Did you mean "hardly a dry SEAT" Grumblewagon, or did you mean to say "dry EYE" in the house?
Would make alot of difference . .
