Maybe thanking the members for ..participating ...
at least that ..
Sometimes there are members you DON'T want to thank for partipating . Yes, I think it is rude not to, but as I said, I'm sure I'll have done it myself and I ain't perfect

Quite Alan

Have you ever started a thread .. then you never bother to comment afterwards ...
I think what often happens is members reply while a thread is current then forget about it as days pass and maybe miss late replies

Re: Are you rude ...

Always try to respond if i can, at least at the beginning. The one that riles me is if someone asks a question, and you answer it and they dont bother acknowledging the fact. grrrrrrrrrr.

Great way to look at it

Sometimes, I am much more interested in what others have to say.

In fact, only recently I thought about creating a new section where members can simply post a topic up for discussion without having to post their own opinion or any accompanying text.

A number of good reasons for this - sometimes people just want to hear what everyone else thinks, sometimes people want to put up a topic without adding their own opinion as to not influence the opinion of others..

Azz i so agree with what you said about putting threads on without putting your own views. If you truly are a people person then you'll be happy just listening to the views of others. Often when you put your views, people are quick to twist them.

Re: Are you rude ...

Yes, I agree with Azz too! Sometimes I start a thread with a point of view which is not necessarily my own just to get a response. Must admit though sometimes I wish I hadn't! You have to be careful that if you state a fact to point out that it is not your opinion, you're just sharing it for discussion.
