Ferret legging is a little known deviation peculiar to the Wibsey area of Bradford. It used to be widespread throughout the Aire Valley but faded during the great ferret famine of the 1920s and now only survives in Wibsey, where it is practiced every fourth St Newts day.

Can l come out of the the gravy now as it's gone cold and my skin has gone all wrinkly!

You should invest in a strigil. Very useful for those dried gravy moments. Mary Beard recommends them in her new book.

Aye, good idea - as used by ancient Romans as part of their hygiene regimen. Gravy makes a poor substitute for olive oil mind.
