Left school at 16, became apprentice dispenser for Boots the Chemist, qualified, became chief dispenser in one of the Bristol branches.
Had two children. Went back to Boots part time as assistant on make up counter.
Emigrated to S. Africa, worked for Kentron, Armscor ( S.African Defence Force) electronic stores for about a year, then in CNA ( similar W.H. Smiths) shop selling records, photography dept and toys, for about a year.
Then El Rene haberdashery/ wool shop also for Matthias Wanke (yes really) making porcelain dolls.
Returned to UK. worked as school cleaner, then three part time jobs as grocery shop assistant, barmaid and cleaning retirement homes.
Asda for a while then local chemist dispensing when they retired I went to Lloyds Chemist.
Had youngest child and did volunteering at her primary school.
