Anyway, I like all names, but our neighbours where I grew up named their daughter Gay,which was unfortunate!

Been more unfortunate if it was a boy.

Oooo!
My auntie Effie was named Euphemia, that's not very pretty! I might have complained about that! Another was Belmontia and her sister Agatha Theodora!

My dear old Grandad's middle name was 'Pretoria' for some reason. Never heard that before or since.

I don't mind really a name is soon overlooked when you get to know a person.

My DIL says when she met my son she agreed to go out with him partly because he had a 'solid dependable' name so I am pleased I chose it and helped to acquire for him such a beautiful girl.

We have had some unusual names in the family over the years, a Trevelyan, Parkin, Radford and Ciro , I will settle for
Margot abbreviated to Meg .

Yes! I' ve been there.
Lots of folk named their children after S. African places or people who featured in the battles of the Boer War when the war ended. There was a Cronje, a policeman in our nearest town.

I have a friend in S Africa whose name is Grant, but I think that was his parents choice and not a town
