Well I'll be blowed there I was thinking the old Duke was a bleeding Kraut but infact as others have stated he's a Greek.
Eeeeek.
He is a descendant of the Danish-German house of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg, whose members have provided bespoke royalty to Denmark, Norway and Greece. Philip was himself born Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark on June 10 1921 on Corfu.

I suppose if this gets out to old Lizzie I'll be summoned to the Tower .

This could have been sorted out with an internal memo without all this fuss.
