Beware

Over the weekend, my husband and I donated to, 'Children with Cancer UK', as we think it is a good cause. The donation, which I did on-line, appeared to go through ok. A bit later I received an e-mail from a woman called Fiona, (I can't remember her surname) who stated that our donation hadn't gone through. I was suspicious, deleted the e-mail and the second one I received today. I have just checked the bank accounts to see if our recent payments had gone through, and surprise, surprise, of course that one had gone through too!

I shall get in touch with the charity tomorrow and inform them about this apparent scam merchant.

It makes you wonder who this Fiona is and how did she know about your donation , how could this happen , does anyone know ?

I was fortunate that I ignored the e-mails, otherwise we could have lost money.

Hope you got it sorted I wont donate to ' Children with Cancer ' as I believe Cancer should come under one umbrella ,not split up to little bits

Some of these scams are so so easy to spot, with bad spelling & grammar, i can't understand how anyone could be taken in. But then others, especially when they pretend to be charities that you care for, look so genuine.

Sort of leaves a bad taste ... you want to help, but not be scammed. One thing that does annoy me is some of the charity fat cats on 150k per year. Unless it's physical money I can put into a tin, I don't donate. As for giving DD details in the street? See you later, alligator!
