Marriage or Civil

What are you feelings about this couple?

In a way I can see their point, as it seems gay couples are given more choice than a heterosexual couple over their future committment.

Re: Marriage or Civil

I saw this couple on the news and they said if they lose their case in the UK, they will take it to a European Court.
I suppose, they do have a point and it’s the principle of it all.

Yes, it's a funny old case isn't it, but as you say, I can see their point in a way.

Re: Marriage or Civil

I don't see why there is any legal objection to this.

Re: Marriage or Civil

I hope they win their case

I never wanted to get married but with a "blended" family it was really the only option for us, without expensive convoluted wills

I would loved to have had the option of a civil partnership

Re: Marriage or Civil

I don't see why it cannot be extended to heterosexual couples either in fact what do sexual preferences have to do with it?

It should be a partnership between two people regardless of sex religion culture or anything else..of course it should be allowed.

Should be open to all not just gay people. It's bloody ridiculous how they have even had to go to court over this, what's good for one should be good for another no matter what sexual preferences.

Re: Marriage or Civil

I mentioned this at the time pointing out it discriminated against straight couples and was pilloried by a member who is a gay supporter.

Its unfair, and i hope they win as well as the cake baking couple.

Re: Marriage or Civil

Gay or straight couples should be permitted civil partnerships if that is their wish.

Re: Marriage or Civil

It certainly is unfair and sexist as well. I don't quite understand it but I hope they win their case.
