Sounds horrid! My mom believed in (ugh!!) castor oil ........ and an old fashioned mustard plaster for a nasty chest cold!

Same here Moli-I too hated the stuff-there were 5 of us and like you said we all got a spoonful and we had to open our mouths to show we had swallowed it-yuk

Remember when we got our first phone-used to tell my mum all the street would be able to hear her conversation and that she didn't need to shout-she always used to say she had to shout to make sure my sister could hear her as she didn't live close by..........she didn't live close by but maybe only a couple of miles away
