The government HAS no money other than what can be collected as tax or by borrowing that will have to be repaid out of tax so WHY SHOULD TAX PAYERS BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR THIS?

Why should the government, i.e., us be expected to pay for this? Surely it should be the responsibility of the installers and the councils who sanctioned this cladding?

Well l don't expect tax payers to pay for anything Todge ?
The culprits for this fiasco should pay for everything !!
I believe the money the government is trying to raise will be used
as a stopgap untill legalities are completed and will then be
sequestrated from the criminals responsible ??

Yes, exactly that, but the main liability should be the manufacturers
that knowingly sold a product that was highly flammable and
used misleading data to do so!!
That's my opinion anyway Juddy ?

Unless it can be proved that the manufacturer knowingly sold product outside of their published spec then they have no liability.

It will, or should be proved by the testimonies of the culprits
themselves in the recent long winded court case which should be
winding up soon Todgy ??

Boris is trying to fund removal of cladding and I'm trying to spend money on cladding our bungalow. Do you think I can find a company to do the job? Can I heck as like; they're all too busy cladding local authority housing schemes.
