Re: Amazon - a step too far.

It looks to be a similar thing as BT and Virgin Media has been doing for a number of years to spread the coverage and speed of their service. People's routers used as hotspots. Now Amazon say they will do the same between their devices. Not in UK yet but time will tell. Some links about bandwidth sharing..

Re: Amazon - a step too far.

Seems a good plan, to me.

Making full use of existing wifi, etc., is far superior to allowing more & more & more!

Also, how much different is this from the current mobile phone network structure .

Remember, no one is forced to leave their device, devices, switched on all the time.

Wish I'd invested more in Amazon years ago!

They are leading the way!

Thanks mart, it sounds quite harmless, and it's nice to be able to connect to the web while you are out and about...

Don't worry Ted, Jeff Bezos will make sure you are connected. I just wish these networks came under national ownership instead of some powerful independant company. Companies like Amazon and microsoft etc could shut down the world if they wanted to...

You beat me to it with that mart. I have just seen the ad on TV. Unbreakable broadband I think they call it.

Of course, all this tech is great until something goes wrong and you end up speaking to Rahul in India.
