I don't follow BrExit too much as it's just too complicated I find. However, if the fishing rights are so important to Barnier then it's for the UK to capitalise on that to get the best possible deal, or just walk away. I have no idea what that kind of loss to us that would involve. Perhaps though the EU might just realise we are serious about no longer wanting any part in it, if that's going to be the outcome and stop what seem to be bullying tactics.

Hi

Boris promised he had an Oven Ready Brexit.

He has been sacked twice for lying.

Why do some of you still believe him?

He has been outmanoeuvred by the EU.

We deserve better.

Let's hope it's dawning on sassoli et al. that further negotiations are useless and should be stopped.
However, they'll never be the first to walk away and get the blame for the ensueing consequences. They will not offer boris the possibility to tell the british people it was the EU who left britain in the quagmire. So it will not be a matter of who walks away, but who doesn't walk away....

Re: Talks in Danger of Collapse After EU Staggering Demand!

Oh dear, Barnier is throwing his toys out again. A day or so ago, I read somewhere (can't remember where so can't provide links) that his was demanding exclusive rights for the EU's fleet to fish for squid in the 200 mile exclusion zone around the Falkland Islands too.

Only this morning I'm reading he's throwing more stuff out of his pram because we're offering Australia, Canada and N. Zealand a sweeter deal than we are the EU.

Come on man, drop your demands for a level playing field and fishing rights, and maybe, just maybe, we'll start getting somewhere.

If you remember the 2019 General Election, it was clear to the entire population of the UK that we would leave the EU with a deal or of one cannot be done, without one. That's the mandate that Boris Johnson gave us and the mandate that got him a massive 80 seat majority.

At the moment - there is no deal to be had. Fisheries are off the table, as is the level playing field. The EU have our draft legal texts and its up to them whether they wish to agree to it or not.

Just remember that there are thousands of businesses in 27 countries waiting for Barnier to deliver on his mandate and so far the negotiations on the EU side have been 100% political without any regard for the Economy whatsoever.

No deal is better than a bad deal, that doesn't just apply to the EU it applies to the whole world.
