Emotional Intelligence

It is well known that people with a high IQ, don't often perform well in real life. Top specialists in any branch may well be poor managers and communicators. Emotional Intelligence may well be a better measure of successful people. Take a read, and offer your own thoughts please.......

Re: Emotional Intelligence

Just another cod-psychology moneymaking scam!

Despite the significance of EQ, its intangible nature makes it very difficult to know how much you have and what you can do to improve if you’re lacking. You can always take a scientifically validated test, such as the one that comes with the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 book.
.....which the author of this article just happens to have written.......

Mind you - maybe it explains why I've never been a huge financial success - I drink too much coffee!

Re: Emotional Intelligence

Why do people have to go around analysing everything as regards human behaviour? you just live your life as best you can, some are smarter than others everyone knows that already, some are also luckier than others, some are greedier than others too, that’s the way it’s always been and always will so whichever you are just accept it and carry on.
The author of this article is just about the right age to be a son of a yuppie, remember that shower, ‘Greed is Good’ ‘Money money money’ ‘It’s all in my filofax’ I was wondering when the sons and daughters of the yuppies would descend on us all, as if we hadn’t got enough problems as it is.

Because there's money in it! If you can convince some gullible fool that you can sort out all their problems with the latest theory or the latest quack therapy, there's a fortune to be made. Nowadays, snake-oil salesmen don't even need to give you snake oil - they just charge you a fortune for their "talk therapy" scams.

Grumpy old git with a PhD in psychology seeks companies to pay me a huge fee. I can do public speaking,I can be any social class you wish. What I cannot dazzle the audience in,I can baffle them with bullshit.

Re: Emotional Intelligence

Sounds like we have much the same skill-set. Maybe we should set up in partnership!
