Nerve conduction test

I had an accident in February, it has caused some discomfort in my right arm. It is weaker than before, and my fine motor skills are affected. This means I cannot paint at the moment.

I have been referred to the hospital for a nerve conduction test.

Has anyone had one of these?
I will not google as I often find it worries me.

Thanks in advance.

Sweetie try not to worry, once you had the test and any problem is diagnosed there may be things that can be done to help like having a bit of physio.

I was told they could compound the nerve. It sounds frightening.

I agree with Meg, Sweetie.

Pity you did not talk to the Doc about it at the time, might be better than worrying about possibilities that may not even happen.

Why it has taken them nearly 10 months to look at?

Because I thought the pain was an age thing. It was only recently that I was at the GP about another matter when she noticed that I was using my left arm for most things. I was sent to see a specialist, who referred me for this test.

Oh well, Tuesday I will know what happens. As I said, I am not going to Google about it.

Good luck for Tuesday, not long to wait.
Try not to worry in advance, it doesn't solve a darn thing.

Re: Nerve conduction test

Well, what a strange experience. I was given a heated pad to hold for 15 mins, they then took the temperature of my hands. I was then wired up, I was given small electric shocks!!! Then a small needle was inserted in my hand, this recorded some weird noise, then further electrical shocks.
It only took about 20 minutes. I am glad that is over, and I will now go back to see the specialist. Apparently, they think I have a small piece of bone roaming around. I told them that I am not having an operation. I will see what the specialist says.
