Pete Shelley R.I.P.

Sad to hear today that Pete Shelley, lead singer and lyricist of late 70's punk-pop band the Buzzcocks has died aged 63. Suspected heart attack.
The band were best known for the classic singles 'Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You shouldn't've)' and 'Promises' in 1978.

Very sad to hear.

The Buzzcocks were one of the best and one of the most influential Punk bands of the era

Songs like Orgasm Addict, 1,2,F U, Boredom , What Do I Get and , of course their famous 1977 Spiral Scratch EP where I first came across them.

Totally Brilliant and incredibly influential........one of the UK's greatest!

Re: Pete Shelley R.I.P.

here are some clips of Pete's best songs starting with 'Ever fallen In Love', then a video of 'What Do I Get?' from 1977. Finally, a clip of the band performing 'Promises' live in New Jersey in 2017 sounding still as strong as ever.

Yes Moscow, Shelley and The Buzzcocks were as important to the early punk rock scene as the Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Damned. All there as pioneers of the genre in the UK.
