TV this Christmas

I have just read that of the 282 shows to be screened on BBC2 from December 22nd - January 4th, a total of 209 - or 73% - are to be repeats!

Meanwhile, ITV's Christmas programmes will reportedly have less than 50% of repeated content.

Kate Phillips, BBC controller of entertainment, insisted viewers would be happy. She said "We do show repeats, but we find people love them because Christmas is all about tradition and family tradition."

What do you think?
Do you mind loads of repeats or do you enjoy them?

TV this Christmas will be disappointing again, but we'll watch it.

Re: TV this Christmas

I am looking forward to a new version of Watership Down

There are so many things stored on my TV recorder that I haven't had time to watch I might actually catch up with some of them over Christmas

I won't even bother looking at the TV guide except for a brief look at the films to be shown each day.
I tend to catch up with a box set over Christmas, go out, stay in, or read a book.

I don't mind watching certain repeats actually...I have some favourites...Christmas Vacation and Several of the Die Hard movies...Jingle all the Way...Skyfall maybe Spectre too this year as well. ...in not usually at a a loss to watch something we enjoy. I enjoy watching all the Worlds Strongest men challenges too.

Re: TV this Christmas

I always pre-record anything I want to watch or listen to, then throw the Radio Times away so I always have my preferred programmes on tap. There are some repeats I don't mind seeing again and again though but I do get sick of the same old films on Freeview.
