Re: do you like christmas?
I don't like Christmas and never have, even as a child. Having worked all my life, the last thing I wanted, over the holiday, was to spend it with lots of people who will argue or drink too much.Re: do you like christmas?

I used to love it best when the children were small but nowadays I just go with the flow.Re: do you like christmas?
I guess I’m a bit indifferent to it now, I most look forward to time off from work, this year I’ve taken Christmas Eve off so I have a bit longer, but even though it comes at the same time every year, we still aren’t quite prepared for it, went to town yesterday with my son, a Christmas tradition we’ve done since he was three or four, but it was absolutely manic, crowds of people shopping like there’s no tomorrow, argh!!, when the actual day comes it’s all over in a flash anyway so weeks of planning, buying and preparation, all done in a moment, Boxing Day is a bit better, as we go out to the relatives and exchange a few more gifts, but I’m with others, roll on the shortest day, and lighter nights and spring around the corner...Re: do you like christmas?
Re: do you like christmas?
I think day I find I don't love Christmas is day I have to accept I am fed up of life. Spend 12 months getting ready for it and two days enjoying it. Only thing would make it more enjoyable is if everyone could be home with us. But as jobs keep family members away we get onto skype and see them using technology.Re: do you like christmas?
I like the calm before Christmas, when everything is ready, presents wrapped and all the preparation is done. I don't like the long run up to Christmas, all the busy, busy and hoping I have not forgotten anything or anyone. I tend to worry a bit about whether people are happy and enjoying themselves and I get a bit tired these days. I must admit I am a bit dismayed at the over-indulgence of it all. I think Christmas is a time for children. As you get older, responsibility takes over and the shine of it gets rubbed away and you can see the tat and commercialism. One year I will "jump off" and walk away from it all. I think not being religious makes a difference.
