Paying for the advanced type of coating does offer the reduced
incidence of fogging, BUT, IMHO it's not worth paying the extra. My treated lenses still fog when coming in from the cold and into a warm (usually damper) atmosphere, although it is a little
reduced. In future I will opt for the standard coatings and leave it at that.
I could explain about due point temperatures and the relative humidity found in the average home, but that would probably confuse most people. One thing I did find with the more expensive coatings, the lenses seem to smear less and cleaning is easier.
