Re: Anarchists or activists?

According to Google, you can rent fire trucks from plenty of limo hire companies, for birthdays, weddings, etc.

And it will probably be the taxpayer who gets the bill for the clean up!

They will probably just get a quick slap on the wrist, then go out and do something just as stupid.

They are on a par with animal rights activists who break into properties and release farmed animals into the wild knowing most of them will not survive.

Read that a group of animal rights people went into Pizza Hut with a tannoy and made a nuisance of themselves to the extent that one customer slapped one of the protesters.

Not entirely sure how upsetting a few families with kids, who were having a bite to eat, is precisely aiming high in terms of ambition.

Re: Anarchists or activists?

These people are not "activists." Activists are in the middle of the problem, solving the problem.

They are "awareness mongers", which is synonymous for I-don't-really-want-to-do-the-dirty-work-I-just-want-to-complain-and-do-something-to-show-the-people-in-my-circle-what-an-intellectual-person-I-am.

This sort of public whining doesn't solve the problem, it just creates a whole new set of problems - including backlash.

While I am sure these attention addicts are enjoying the satisfaction of freedom of speech, I just hope they are prepared to accept the consequences of it.

Re: Anarchists or activists?

Police slow response makes you wonder if they support this group.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-Treasury.html

Police officers were not present at the start of the protest despite the Treasury having been named and included on a map of buildings that Extinction Rebellion said they would target in a document published last week.

Don't these total idiots realise that pulling stunts like this distresses and angers the very people they are trying to win over - and does absolutely nothing for their 'cause'!! Neither activists nor anarchists - they are self aggrandizing dolts!

Aggrandizing great word. They appear desperate to validate what they are doing, very sad.

Hhhmmmmmm,......does what Cinderella and Silver Tabby ,say sound exactly like what's happening with Brexit? Oops, silly me! Totally different thread! Hhhhmmmm..........They appear desperate to validate what they are doing, very sad.

Maybe some things coincide?

Peaceful protest, yes,but attacking government buildings, monuments to fallen hero's, and statues of great people in our history and heritage,, that's sad.
