Re: USA 2020 - Itinerary

Seeing the travel agent in the morning to hopefully book this thing at last. No doubt there will need to be some last minute alterations but at least we should have all the hotels and flights sorted out and paid for

I thank you all for your valuable advice on this. Please keep posting with ideas on "things to do" once I finalise the details tomorrow

Thanks mate.
It took three hours but it was worth it. The travel agent was great, very helpful. She found ways to get the most convenient flights (same airline throughout even with internal flights) and some perfectly located hotels near the ammenities. We can even fly initially from Humberside Airport.
Yes, it went great and was inside my budget but I'm several thousand pounds lighter tonight!

I've mentioned them in passing on here, Galty, and we have booked some trips in advance. I'll try to list them later on if I can, bud. Meanwhile, any more advice would be most welcome, thanks

Re: USA 2020 - Itinerary

OK

My advice for LV...you will have to pay at your hotel what they call a resort fee about $40 a day on average.

If on the strip and you want to go down town get the bus called the Deuce $8 for 24 hours you can also for the same price get the SDX.

You will have to go downtown to visit the Mob Museum cost about $25 and well worth it.

Have a great Holiday.

I will be back late May and all of June downtown for the poker

Sorry Galty, I got busy last night. This is our itinerary.
I don’t like to plan too much, we’ll take most of it as it comes but we do hope to include most of the following in our journey.
The Mob museum sounds a good choice for Vegas, I'll add that one. Los Angeles itself we may not touch on, though Hollywood is a must.
We've taken into account some of the resort charges at certain destinations, plus the baggage extras you need to pay at airports. It's all in hand, thanks bud

SAN FRANCISCO 5 nights (Fisherman’s Wharf).
Bus Excursion booked: “Do Something Different” 2-day hop on/off includes Alcatraz
Golden Gate Bridge.
Golden Gate Park & The Presido
Alcatraz Island & Prison
Fisherman’s Wharf (hotel base)
Haight Ashbury
Pier 39
Union Square

SAN DIEGO 4 nights (Bayside).
San Diego beach/harbour
Balboa Park
Hollywood Walk of Fame/Sunset Boulevard
Venice Beach
Universal Studios
Day trip to Malibu

LAS VEGAS 3 nights (Treasure Island)
Bus Excursion booked: “Do Something Different” Grand Canyon Explorer trip Las Vegas strip.
Casinos
Freemont Street
See a show?

NASHVILLE 2 nights
Bus Excursion booked: “Do Something Different” Old Town Trolley Tour ‘The home of country music’.
Grand Ole Opry
Johnny Cash Museum

NEW YORK 6 nights (Manhattan)
Broadway (see a show?)
Madison Square Garden (see a concert?)
Manhattan
River sightseeing cruise or bus
Brooklyn Bridge
Coney Island
Chinatown
Little Italy
Statue of Liberty (Liberty Island)
Ground Zero (9/11)
Macy’s + shopping
Times Square
Grand Central Station
Central Park
Tate Modern
Day trip to Boston?
Day trip to Martha’s Vineyard, MA.
Day trip to New Jersey (Asbury Park) – Train.

Good luck with the tables Galty, enjoy your latest trip

I saw a show in Vegas, in the most beautiful Venetian Hotel, we saw Phantom of the Opera and it was brilliant.
All of Vegas is brilliant, I wish you could fit me in your suitcase, I'd love to go back, it was the best holiday of my life on a par with Florida. One you won't forget. So, so excited for you.

Re: USA 2020 - Itinerary

I can't imagine anyone wanting to go to Alcatraz. I spent most of my life doing my best to stay out of there.
