Re: Pavement parking could be banned in England

Our council tried to enforce this a couple of years ago but had to reverse their decision and insist that people park half on/half off the pavement after numerous complaints from emergency services and their own refuse collection vehicles. If people parked on the road, there was not room enough for large vehicles to access the road. Another example of the inherent stupidity of traffic planners.

And many that do have garages built to minimum building regulations that make it impossible to exit any decent sized vehicle that is squeezed into them.

When those houses were built Mick there was no traffic and no
traffic planners obviously?
It seems we are hoist by our own petard?

The bastards do it here too, it is definitely illegal. I send a photo off to the Rangers but frankly I think they just ignore it.

Stupidity of your council rather than the traffic planners.

Spot on

I live in London and we are aloud to half park on the Pavement in marked zones, if we did not the road would be blocked.

When my house was built the council passed plans for a narrow rd, but theses days people put rubbish in their garage and put a £50 motor on the road
