So office workers are more important than manual workers?

Well, just as always, office staff who sit on their butts all day,and can "work from home" are classed as more important than manual workers?

So bus drivers, taxi drivers, factory workers, warehouse worker's and anyone who actually has a real job is expendable?

With the exception of the better paid NHS staff, it is interesting that the "other" essential workers are those who are lower paid - postal workers, cleaning staff, refuse collectors, care workers, etc, etc - food for thought.

THere is "having your opinion" (Which is your right) and then there is making a statement that is just plain insulting to a huge percentage of the work force..all over the world. My wife is "working from home" - your inverted commas - at the moment. She is a manager in a veterinary pharmaceutical company. She also coordinates sales and customer service. She has the main phone diverted to her office at home and she is patched into the company computer network as well. She works flat out from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm all day: just like she does normally and takes about 15 minutes for lunch. Her colleagues do the same. The success of her company is, to a significant degree, down to the hard work of her and her team. And they produce and sell very high quality products. I don't know what constitutes a "real job" in your opinion apart from those you mentioned; which of course are.. but I can tell you that if repeated that to my wife here you'd cop a serve a lot stronger than this.

At one time shop floor staff were paid more than the office clerks.
As office staff had less strenuous jobs in better conditions.
But as the managers generally set the wages that situation has been reversed.
