Yesterday I fell off a chair
That shook me up alright

if they'd build stairs that all went upwe wouldn't fall down them so much
or stairs made of rubber/foam
and then I wouldn't break my bones!
now chairs are tricky dicky things
the Japanese have chairs that sing
you sit upon them on the floor
and hang ya feet beneath the door!
now nurses can be dangerous fillets
they force your tablets down your gillet
and when you're lying on the floor
what passionate treatments to abhor?

You don't stop being a father when you get oldyou're still dad, but you do as you are told.
Stairs are a wonderful institution but sometimes tricky
Rubber ones might be the solution but could get sticky.
And like the old army song says, what's the use of having a wife to keep her all your life.
"With the head of her hair stuck to the stair and then she has the cheek to ask me for me wages at fifty bob a week"
Plus "A shilling a week for powder, a shilling a week for paint, sixpence worth of epsom salts in case she takes a faint"
Sure you'd be out the door with them. altogether.
