What can ordinary folk do in the face of such treachery and despotic dictatorship?

It is surely now time for millions of Leavers to take to the streets and protest against this wilful refusal to honour the will of the people given in the largest public vote ever held.

You must be a blessed country if you can call brexit your biggest problem......

Re: Farage U turn

Loss of democracy, a take over by foreign dictators, the threat of losing long fought for freedoms, yes pretty much the most pressing issue for any country. Everything else, whilst important, pales into insignificance.

You're right, of course.

As I've said before, remaining in the EU (until it collapses) is one thing, but far more important is the fact that we have almost certainly lost our democracy.

When politicians arrange things such that we don't have an alternative party for which to vote and that the parties we do have are effectively in an alliance to keep us in the EU, we no longer have the freedom to make any meaningful decisions.

When we are finally in the EU for keeps, and the dictators extend their control over our country to the extent that we no longer have a meaningful government of our own in Westminster, we shall most certainly have lost our democracy.

Yes, we shall still have the right to vote for MEPs who will sit in a debating chamber in Brussels (or Strasbourg for a few weeks) and have the pleasure of discussing the ins and outs of how we are allowed to exist.

Unfortunately, though, our elected representatives will have no real power at all. All the real decisions and laws will be decided by the Commission, a body of 28 (or no doubt several more by then) representatives of each erstwhile nation in the EU.

Yes, we shall have one of the 28+ representing our ex-nation's interests, but with no real chance of making any laws for our own benefit. We shall be outvoted every time.

After, as I still believe, the EU Empire does collapse what will we do? Will we be able to restore our nation to independence and establish a new democratic governing body?
Or will we still be under the control of 'establishment' figures and find that democracy is permanently lost, never to be regained?

Re: Farage U turn

The traitors in Westminster are acting now quite brazenly and with an arrogance that speaks of their knowledge that we have already abolished democracy and that they are securely embedded and thus protected by the dictatorship that has taken over.

They know of course that the Lisbon Treaty, which we were signed up to by BLiar in 2009, effectively abolishes Westminster and abolishes our UK political parties.

So in their eyes they have nothing to lose by continuing to betray the British people and keep serving the wishes and agendas of the EU.

Our vote will disappear.

We will, in the near future, only be able to vote for the pantomime EU level political parties like:

• European People's Party (EPP)

• Party of European Socialists (PES)

• Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE)

• European Green Party (EGP)

• Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR)

but it will not make a happeth of difference as you rightly highlight because EU parties are nothing like our UK parties and the system is nothing like our democratic system.

EU parties have absolutely no ability to create or instigate laws or changes. It is the unelected EU Commission which chooses what changes are made. The minions below just ratify their wishes. It is not democracy. It is dictatorship.

I wonder how many UK people truly understand anything about this, which is all outlined in the Lisbon Treaty?

We are going to lose our ability to vote for any kind of meaningful change. We become subordinates in a dictatorial regime.

lol "fullfact"

It's been covered before, just search for my posts and the term "fullfact". That you need to quote this source shows a level of desperation on your part.

Still it's interesting to see that the source confirms that we WILL ultimately be dragged into the Euro. Reason enough to get out of the EU whilst we can.

Re: Farage U turn

Have we got the candidates lists for the coming election yet?
They were supposed to be announced yesterday PM! I want to know
where my nearest brexit party candidate is situated so l can make
arrangements to transfer myself and my vote to that area for a short
holiday over the election date! Much like the students are planning
to do over their break!
This will prevent me from being disenfranchised during this coming
election due to the so called strategic voting being implemented by
our so called representatives!!
It seems the only alternative l have is to spoil my vote in the
prescribed manner?
I know several other brexit voters from different areas in the same
boat as me, and it seems like robbery to me??
Regards Donkeyman!

Nice thought, but of course no way to actually do that.

Only students get to choose between 2 constituencies.

One wonders actually why students are permitted to do that when everyone else must choose to vote by proxy or by postal vote if they won't be in their home constituency!

Simply more election manipulation by a corrupt Establishment.
