Are they serious?

If all the green brigade and respective governments are so keen on using less of the world's resources, why don't they just put things on 'Rationing' like they did in the war.....?

Only one vehicle every ten years....
Ten quid of diesel or petrol per week..
Shops and internet purchasing only done on a Sunday....
Mobile phones must last at least five years...
And only two weeks per year holidays allowed where flying is the mode of transport...

Needs some work....but you get the idea.
Remove the demand for things and save the planet....Cool Eh?

Because they would lose far too much in revenue. Most of them couldn't care less anyway.

Hypocrites all!
If they want to preach it, they must utilise it themselves.
Can any of them honestly (I know, they're politicians! lol) say that they themselves would adhere with their own statements to do this? No, of course they wouldn't. They must then lead by example and practice what they preach. I thought not.
Liars all!
None of them would be able to function in their job, their work, their travel arrangements.
Bunch of turncoat, vote-grabbing loons all!
How many votes have they just LOST by simply coming out with this claptrap?
Complete idiots all!

It's like the carrier bag debacle. Instead of charging 10p, ban them.

Certainly does need some work.
I wonder how many millions would become unemployed?

Re: Are they serious?

There would be no cars, no buses, no lorries no motorbikes or Taxis on the road.

We might as well go back to living in caves with the men wearing bearskins and pulling us women along by the hair.

I think public transport might be exempt Arty....
I remember when only the Doctor and Policeman had a car back in the day.
Everyone worked within five miles of where they lived and so cycled or walked to work. I do believe that globalism will be the death of us all....
Companies allowed to grow too big and move to other countries where labour is cheap and can hold the world to ransom, think microsoft, google, etc, and unlike small family affairs, they exploit the planet on a global scale making products too cheap to repair or recycle.

You are correct OGF, globaliseation is the cause of what is
happening!
The problem is how do we put the genie back in the bottle?
How can we deconstruct all the global corperations etc, etc?
Most of them have more money than a lot of countries have!
Eventually the whole world will be shopping at amazon!!

Leaving the EU and trying to restore British industry and proper jobs would be a good start Donkeyman....
I've seen big national companies trim back all the dead wood to make them 'Lean and Mean' perhaps we could do the same and keep British industry British....

Trouble is, the guys at the top are too greedy and will not want to restrict their business interests, and unfortunately, they are the ones who really run the country, and tomorrow, the world....

A hundred years ago if the establishment would have erected cctv everywhere there would have been uproar and protests.....But use the media to spread fear, hate and terrorism and now we welcome the cameras....

Same can be said of man made climate change, give the people a common enemy and we will beg the establishment to build an army to police the world, a world with no borders or Sovereignty.
