Thank goodness I am not the only one who thinks like that Muddy - it's nothing like any Jane Austen novel I've ever read! Apparently she only wrote the first 11 chapters before she died - so the characters might be hers but the plot is so weak that to call it a Jane Austen novel is almost sacrilege.

I thought it was less than that about 70 pages.

It could well have been - my information is from here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanditon

It is not always a reliable source though. Mind you I suppose 11 chapters could have been written in 70 pages if they were short chapters

Re: Sanditon

I watched the first episode and was more intrigued as to why they had a Meghan Markle lookalike to play in the lead role.

I started to watch the second episode and wondered why l was watching such a load of mundane tosh? What on earth is it supposed to be about?

I wouldn’t mind but l usually like Andrew Davies’s adaptations of the classics.

Anyway, Thank Goodness, The Capture is on tonight.... that’s more my cup of tea!

Re: Sanditon

The trouble is it’s not a classic as Jane Austin had written very little of it when she died .

Re: Sanditon

Just spent ten minutes of watching the latest episode and have decided that life is too short. Roll on "The Capture".
