So how do they survive economically Ted ?
Because according to Bread, high taxes will drive businesses away ??
Could it be that they have access to some product that others
want or need to buy !!
If so ,why hasn't UK got a product like this ? After having so many
years as top dog ??

I think that they are cleverer than what we is!

In Sweden (a long time since I went to Jarfalla), the big hit seemed to be on beer & food bought at the bar.

That way, the tourists take much of the hit & it even keeps the drunkards down.

Might have changed now, I last went in 1991.

They also have a much higher standard of living than we do here in the UK.

They want to see the (Northern) Lights?

And to leave a letter for Santa?

- not forgetting that all the Swedish speak English far better than most of us back here.

Idiots is perhaps a bit strong, I got carried away and exaggerated. I hear ordinary people talking about the government and how they think the country is being run; we all do. Most "men-in-the-street" are not well informed enough, or sufficiently knowledgable in political matters to be competent to vote. You don't have to hear many conversations between work colleges or blokes in pubs, etc. to become aware of that. Most people talk rubbish when it comes to their political opinions.

Check prices where the Tourists flock................Paris, Venice, you name it.

I don't thing London hits the Tourist anything like they do.

Someone might put me right?

Clever taxing could regulate the number of tourists, to London, and that might be a good thing?

I would feel honoured to be considered to be an "ordinary person" or "man-in-the street".

There are many worse descriptions.

Happily, the "two you quote are the ones who vote", (hopefully)

I was in Sweden for 18 months. The beer was really watered down and horrendously expensive.
