Re: Oh Dear! The local Doctor Surgery!

Hi

My GP Surgery is an utter disgrace.

It is so bad it is in special measures.

Nothing to be found re: £18 per vaccination but the link below shows £12.58 per covid vaccination:

look lets be honest - if I had the choice of vaccinating hordes and hordes in a squashed surgery and then instituting a booking system cos I was getting £ 12 per head - well do the maths and take the cash??

I personally sympathize with the Gp's the forefront of primary health care - having to speak half a dozen different languages and the incidence of acquiring a daily infection high?? take care lassies and lads

This is becoming, ever more , like the Smart Motorway safety debate.

i.e. On the one hand, it saves ongoing investment, on the other hand, people are Dying because of it.

And which argument is winning?

Ah!

Update, today, in the DT.

Apparently the GPs have had to back down on staying out of contact with patients.

They are now having to formulate a more sensible plan.

Lots more criticism in the DT incoming mail.

Even a good cartoon, which I cannot copy, showing a Fire Brigade Officer, on the phone to the GP practice, saying
"A fire at the GP Surgery?, We're only doing online appointments at the moment"

How about this, then?
I confess I haven't read it all, Annie, because it seems you have to sign in somewhere.
Some interesting headlines if you scroll further down too.

I think the detail is here :

https://www.medeconomics.co.uk/artic...ts-updated-sop

"The following additional payments for care homes jabs now apply, these are on top of the basic £12.58 item of service fee for COVID vaccinations. They only apply where the vaccine was administered in a care home and not in another setting

£30 for first doses administered Monday 14 December - Sunday 17 January.
£20 for first doses administered Monday 18 - Sunday 24 January.
£10 for first doses administered Monday 25 - Sunday 31 January.
£10 for all second doses administered to those patients who received a first dose before 31 January."

So it only applied in January except the £10 for second doses in care homes.

I guess if they go outside the surgery there is additional travel, PPE etc to take into account.
