oh Cinders...I know what you mean about opening jars and bottles...it gets worse the older we get.... arthritic fingers...no help at all...hope you're feeling better....deep breaths...

I don't usually have problems opening bottles and jars but there is always the odd one that's very stubborn. That's when I find one of these very useful, works in seconds so for the price well worth trying I reckon:

Douwe Egberts coffee jars - gah! Sealed lids that you pry off with a knife of something, and end up emptying the coffee all over the worktop because it pops off so violently. Then never reseals again.

Maybe better to do something early before struggling with
losing your grip leads to worsening of the problem?
