I doubt if Specsavers would employ anyone who is not fully qualified. Although, as all of the process is highly computerised, how qualified does one need to be. Even the setting up of a virgin aid to suit each individual patient, is computer lead. It's a fascinating subject and since seeking out and downloading my particular aid's software, I am now able to connect my aids to other devices and tweak/fine tune to my heart's content

I wonder how many others, who have hearing loss, might notice that, if you pop your ears, the sound comes back to full strength?

I do this and I think it's quite different from having wax blocking.

Pop your own ears? How do you do that then without bursting an eardrum?

Hold you nose & pressurise.

Your eardrums pop.

Not so hard that something breaks, mind you!

I always have to do this, when flying, to avoid pressure pains.
