Re: Grey Hair.

Dyeing your hair is a tricky business, and so many older women get it wrong. I've seen lots of women with hard black dyed hair, or that awful maroon auburn and it's so harsh and unflattering, particularly on an older face. If you must do it, keep it subtle and fairly light, your skin fades with age and black looks dreadful IMO.

Re: Grey Hair.

Grey hair doesn't have to look old, lady where I work has a very chic bob and looks fantastic with her white/grey hair.

I can't use dye any more so am going grey, I seem to be becoming a zebra as I am greying in blocks looking stripy sort of several mallen streaks.

Re: Grey Hair.

I have a mallen streak on my right temple but it is not always noticeable depending on how my hair is combed. Otherwise my hair is still fairly dark, almost black and I am 70. My dad had jet black hair when he died at 50 the only white hairs he had were on the back of his neck when he needed a hair cut.

That's very true eccles, a solid dark colour usually looks awful on older people.
I just have a sort of 'honey blonde' hi-lites done in mine so its a bit of a mixture of light grey/dark blonde. Might sound odd, but its actually really nice and subtle.

Re: Grey Hair.

I will have grey hair, but you don't really see them. I'm glad, as I can't really be bothered covering up. I've never dyed my hair and don't really want to start. I do fancy getting one pink streak though

Re: Grey Hair.

I think I shall go white like my dad did and probably it will happen overnight!

I'll face it when it comes! Until then I shall be grateful for the colour I have. I certainly wouldn't be into dying my hair, never have.

Re: Grey Hair.

Used to love dying mine when I was younger went through all the colours of the rainbow at various times, was quite sad when I started to react to dyes. Might have been tempted to go pink again or blue.

Re: Grey Hair.

We have a lady here with a face made of granite and she has her hair dyed jet black, (she's 76) With that face and hair plus black eye liner, its a scary look - she sure wipes the smile off me face
